Cactus Blossoms

Similar to the previous photo, but this cactus is from a different plant, in a different part of Arizona. I don't really have any of those specifics. The more I stare at the spines on this cactus, the more I get the heebiegeebies.

Watkins Glen Waterfall 1

A slightly different perspective than the last photo I posted for this waterfall. This is a wonderful waterfall in Watkin's Glen, out towards Ithaca, New York.

I didn't bring a tripod with me (though I did see some photographers who did). I find that they are pretty cumbersome in a lot of circumstances. I prefer to just brace the camera against the nearest stable thing I can find. This photo was taken by placing the camera on the stone wall along the walkway.

The stonework is quite beautiful at this park. I know I've said this before, but if you get the chance to go, GO. I can't wait to visit here again.

Self Portrait, Bisbee

I haven't been very productive on the photo front lately. What with fixing up the house and work I haven't really had all that much time to do anything very fun with the cameras. Today, however, I decided to try my hand at working with some post-processing again so I opened up Google Picasa and went to town sprucing up some older photos.

It's terrifying how many photos I have that I haven't posted yet from all the old outings. 2012 hasn't been nearly as photo-rich as past years. Perhaps I will take the camera out today to try and remedy that...

Another shot from our trip to Greenport a few months ago. I had a great time walking around Greenport and visiting some of the nature trails with Alyssa and her family.

The Golden Arches in Greenport

This photo was taken in the fall out in Greenport, NY. I had a good time taking photos there with Alyssa and her mom. We couldn't stop into Aldo's for a hot chocolate, as it was mobbed with people, but maybe next time!

This architecture was found on the side of what I believe was an old theater (but I could be mistaken). The building was really neat (though it wasn't in the best of repair).

This photo was taken while the ivy was still bright and green. When converted to black and white the leaves turned very dark and the red bricks turned very light. A cat lives in one of the apartments on the lower windows here, but I failed to capture him on this particular photo trip.

A streetlight seen near the walkway on the way to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge (on the Beacon-side). I like the minimalism of this photo.

Some fungus growing on a fallen tree on the trail to Mt. Beacon. I took a ton of photos of this subject, and it was tough to pick my favorite photo. This photo will do.

Here we have a sign that can be seen at the Mount Beacon hiking trail. The first leg of the trip borders the back yards of several properties, and it would appear that one particular person has had some unfortunate problems with hikers.

We had similar issues when we raised chickens back when I was a kid.
