Recently, I went on a camping trip up in the Catskills. It was a week of campfires and beautiful weather. I took my camera with me and was able to capture a few good photos. This is one I am especially happy with. I was watching the deer feed in the early morning light out in the field and eventually we were down to just one doe.
I had just about given up on taking photos of the deer and was packing up my camera when I suddenly spotted the last doe leaping up and down in alarm, making a bee line for the woods. I couldn't see what had spooked her. I watched the field for a bit and eventually spotted movement. A lone coyote was slinking through the tall grass.
This is the first time I've been able to grab photos of a coyote in the wild. This is definitely the best photo out of this series. Here you can see the coyote staring intently at a critter in the field. Soon after this photo, the coyote pounced upon the hapless creature and made a quick meal out of it.
It wasn't long after enjoying the meal that I was spotted and the coyote ran off into the woods.
